Door-to-door separate waste collection in Palermo

At the start in Palermo the second phase of the "door-to-door" separate waste collection that will involve some 50,000 families (130,000 inhabitants), which add up those already served by Palermo Separate Waste Collection 1. Served users are now about 260,000.

The announcement was made by the mayor of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando,  this morning at Villa Niscemi. Also present, the deputy, Sergio Marino, President of the Council Municipal, Salvatore Orlando, President of Rap, Roberto Dolce and the legal representative of Palermo Environment, Marcello Capetta.




The first area of ​​intervention will be the viale Strasburgo area where from tomorrow (June 15th) will begin the distribution of kits to households and utilities not domestic, and where the actual collection will begin in July with the contemporary disposal of the containers.

There will then, with 20,000 people at a time, neighborhoods Politeama, Massimo, Borgo Vecchio, Old Town, and Settecannoli-Brancaccio. All areas will be active by the end of October 2016.

A letter from the mayor with a real appeal to citizens, accompanies the material. "Today we are delivering to citizens a ball and a door empty. It's not hard, do the goal for a new quality of life in Palermo".
